Once you join Nous, we keep track of what you are spending with your current providers. If we spot that you can save money -- when your existing contract ends, for instance – we alert you. You always have the right to refuse a deal, and the right to cancel within 14 days. It’s hassle free, and it saves you money.

Nous is free to join, and we don’t charge you anything until we’ve been able to start saving you money. After your first switch is completed, we charge £7/month. You can cancel at any time without any penalties or exit fees.

To qualify, you must be paying for car insurance which costs you more than £450 per year and less than £1,000 per year per vehicle, and home insurance which costs you more than £300 per year and less than £1,000 per year. We will work with you to confirm your eligibility after you become a Nous member (but before you are charged anything).

In case you’re not eligible, you’ll still be able to access the cheapest tariffs we can find across energy, car and home insurance. And you still won’t pay a penny for membership until we’ve started to save you money.

We’re so confident that we can save you money, if you are not already on course to save £200 by the end of your first year of Nous membership, we’ll top up the difference.

In order to benefit from the Savings Guarantee you’ll need to help us manage your energy and insurance providers, which includes supplying us with the information we request in good time, and not refusing a cheaper deal when we offer you a suitable alternative product which has similar features to one you currently pay for. You must also remain eligible for the Savings Guarantee throughout the first year of your membership.

First we work out which is greater, the price you most recently paid for a given product such as car insurance, or the best price you can get for a comparable product on a leading price comparison website (we look at Compare the Market and MoneySupermarket).

Then we calculate your savings as the difference between that price and any cheaper deal we source for you and switch you to. Unlike price comparison sites who make kickbacks from providers, we share commissions with our members after 12 months. So we also include those in your total savings.

Once you join, we will bring you great deals that often beat anything else on the market. We do this by emailing you, texting you and/or alerting you through our website. However if you change your mind and don’t want us to switch you, you can always choose to decline.

You can cancel your Nous membership at any time with no early termination fees. (Although you have to give us the full 12 months if you want to benefit from our £200 Savings Guarantee.) Nous is not a supplier of energy or insurance services, so if you cancel, your existing services will be completely unaffected – that is to say, your energy, car and home insurance cover will continue just as they are.

Nous members start to save money after their first switch (typically 4 months), though it can be much quicker. You won’t pay anything until after you start saving, and you can still cancel at any time. Over the course of a full year, households can expect to enjoy very significant savings across their household bills.
